This is a collection of the Washington State Library's records. It includes a scrapbook about the history of Legislative Reference Service. The scrapbook of the Open House commemorating the 100th Birthday Anniversary includes letters, telegrams and cards. The Register of honored guests and friends is a guestbook of those that attended the dedication of the Washington State Library in Olympia, WA. There is a guestbook for the open house of the Washington State Library held on Jun. 7, 1959. There is a certificate for "Booker Bookworm" dated Mar. 1, 1960. There is a scrapbook called, "Washington State Library, 1853-1953." This scrapbook contains a description of the the departments in the WSL at the time of 1953 and contains many examples of letters, pamphlets, forms, reports and articles about the history of WSL. The collection contains a copy of the specifications that were written for the bidders on the contracts to build the new Washington State Library building called the Joel M. Pritchard Building.

Maud P. Mitchell was born about 1883 in Oregon. She married Chas. R. Mitchell and by 1920 they were living in Chehalis, WA. Charles was an assistant cashier at the bank. Charles had become a banker by 1930. Between 1957 & 1958 Charles passed away. And Maud passed away on 29 May 1960 in Chehalis, WA.
